If they got Nick and Marty back in there that would be a nice anniversary. Good for Ellefson!

Haha, funny. I tought and commented that it would be good having Ellefson back on Megadeth.

Way to go!!!

The other dream I have is to see Flotsam playing on the Big Four tour. If they do I'll buy the ticket!!!

I had given up hope of this happening.I liked James but JR should be there.

I agree, Flotsam and Jetsam should be one of the big four. Scratch Metallica!

Metallica is going to be made to look stupid live.

Its good to see Jr. back in Megadeth, he belongs next to Dave on stage. I never saw Lomenzo live but McDonough (sp?) never had it and there just wasn't the same feel live. It will be great to have the energy back on the bass.

Still wish Nick and Marty were back on board, but I'll take baby steps.

Well - I have news about all this. Through very close sources, this is not going to happen. From what I have heard was Ellifson went out to practice with them and decided to opt out based on what he saw when he got there.

BTW- Dave E hates to be called Junior..

Really cause the interviews I've read with Dave M and Dave E say the opposite.

I guess we'll see....

Even with Ellefson in the band it is not the true Rust In Peace lineup. If you are going to call it that on your tour, you should give the fans their money's worth.

My source reversed his previous position and confirmed it is in fact going to happen after all... What do ya know..

Dave E has only to gain from being back in or at least give it a chance. And he should be there.

Honestly Chris plays it note for note just like the album and I don't know if Marty has much interest in Metal anymore judging from his solo material and Dave had asked Menza back when he was doing either "system" or "united" I forget which, anyway Menza tried and bowed out because he couldn't play the stuff anymore.I admit it would be really cool but as a fan I don't need them.I am super happy to have Dave E back though.Hope it lasts. It must be a little weird coming back to a band that you once had at least a little creative control in and now? well who knows.
I read last week that Sean is the one who told "Jr" haha, that if ever there was a time to call Dave this was it.Making it sound like Lomenzo was already out.Of course Mustaines version is already different. He said it happened at NAMM when Lomenzo couldn't be found in time and the sound guy "or someone" asked Jr if he'd play and it started from there. What a surprise Daves' interviews conflict!

Hey Kelly have you heard the new Overkill? I think this is the best drummer they have ever had, really nasty. What do you think?
Posted by Redfly on February 15, 2010 07:58,
Good to hear that Chris is solid, everything I heard was that he was the best guitarist since Marty and really helped get some edge back that had been missing. Menza was asked back on System if my memory hasn't failed. He was there and gone within a day it felt like. Guess I'm a little nostalgic for the RIP lineup.

I want to see them on the upcoming tour, playing RIP front to back will be incredible. Still seeing Flots, Korn, Fear Factory and Megadeth at the Chance in NY was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Kelly, if my memory is right Dave E. was thanked in the Cuatro. Was he involved or close to the band?

Oh yeah I forgot about that! Maybe he was the one that got them on the tour?
I also wondered how Chris Cornell came about writing a song for the album?
Posted by Redfly on February 15, 2010 20:25,
Dave and Chris contributed to the writing but neither song made it on the record. Date with Hate was co written with Dave M. Haven't heard the new overkill
Posted by Keldo on February 15, 2010 22:03,
OK now I'm confused lol in the songs credits for "The Message" it says Chris Cornell, is that a typo?
Posted by Redfly on February 15, 2010 23:02,
ya know you are correct - I guess I am just getting to old for this he did write the lyrics for that.
It did cross my mind when I was writing your response previously. Oh Well better get signed up for the long term care facility.................
