agree :-) plus KIMB
Posted by Mj777 on February 22, 2010 12:14,
I like the first 4 equally
Posted by Redfly on February 23, 2010 08:16,
sfsgsw was my first MEGADETH record and the first 4 are all classics for me, but KIMB has Looking down the cross which is such an epic song and i can't understand why that song did'nt make it on the live setlist...

ok, it's the Flotsam board here :-) first Flotsam record was NPFD back in 1988/89, a friend of mine has the tape of it and the first song i heard was Saturday Night, i didn't even know that was Elton John song...but the title track got me hooked...what an fantastic song! There some songs you never get bored of and that is one of them!

I think we must be close to the same age.SFSGSW was my first Megadeth record to.Looking down the cross is bad ass I would freak out if they played it live!
My first Flotsam was also NPFD and Saturday Night was also the first song I heard from them, although it was in video form on Headbangers Ball.I knew it was Elton John but I was blown away at how badass it was.You could not have paid me to listen to the original!

Redfly i'm 37 3 hours i'm going to OVERKILL, i heard they will play some stuff from Feel the Fire (i only know the first 5 OVERKILL records and FTF is my fav. from them)...

Not too far off i'll be 35 in are going to have a good time at Overkill they sound killer live.I always but their records but honestly there are more than a few i'm not that into. My favorite is Years of Decay. But the new one is pretty damn good.

Thanks...nearly 70% of OVERKILL setlist was from the first 4 records (feel the fire, sonic reducer, overkill, rotten to the core, hello from the gutter, wrecking crew, in union we stand, elimination...) sadly the drum sound was terrible and sometimes it didn't make the songs better if you speed 'em up too much...saw them the 6th time (first time Years of decay Tour...i think Bobby Gustafson is missing in the songwritting) and as always they are great live :-)
btw the new songs they've played were great...bring me the night and ironbound were killer live!

I think Bobby was the best writer also he really knew how to develop a mood. But I think Linsk is technically their best guitarist ever. That's too bad about the drum sound I think that this is also the best drummer they have had.The drums on the last two albums are sick.If you go to headbangers balls website they have the video for "Bring Me The Night".The last album has some really good shit on it too Overkill 5 is a cool song. But overall I'd say the new one is their best in a very very long time.Actually Headbangers site is kind of confusing but I just looked and youtube has it.
